Tja, schwere Entscheidung. Als Zugmaschine scheint der Kuga besser geeignet. Ich frage mich, warum der soviel mehr „Trekgewicht“ haben soll 
. Trotz höherem Gewicht und Allrad beim Seal DM-i? Erscheint mir unlogisch. Vielleicht kann da ein DM-i-Besitzer mehr zu sagen! Zuglast war im Forum auf jeden Fall mal Thema.
Bist du die beiden Wagen schon Probe gefahren? Bei so einer knappen Entscheidung wäre bei mir das Fahrgefühl ausschlaggebend.
Grundsätzlich bin ich aufgrund persönlicher Erfahrung kein Fan der Marke Ford, was die Qualität angeht. Andererseits gibt es zum BYD hier zu wenig Langzeiterfahrungen.
I made a test drive in both. The interior of the Kuga is classic, booring and a lot of hard plastic. The Dmi is modern, nice materials and comfortable. The Kuga has the best driving behaviour especially in the corners and the lane keep assist works muich better than in the dmi. The dmi steering is light maybe even too light even in the sport mode. The left-right lean was not as bad as I expected. In Australia the DMI got an update because of the many complaints about the left-right lean in corners. If the European version will also get it that what be great. In my opinion the advantage of the DMI is that you drive always (99%) electric even if the battery is 25%. In the Kuga you drive more like a hybride, even in EV mode the combustion engine kicks in even if you don't do a kick down but accelerate a bit especially at speeds beyond 80 km. So real EV driving in the Kuga is difficult. The Booth of the Kuga is bigger and in the dmi I really miss the tie eyes in the booth as well as the 12 V connection. The tow weight of 2100 is again an advantage against the 1300 kg of the dmi. In exterior design for me are ok for both. THe dmi has than again 6 years warrenty the Kuga only 2 years. If they would improve the suspention a but in the dmi and make the steering more dynamic I prefer the dmi. The Kuga however has also its pros. difficult difficult decision 
Sounds to me that you are more in favour for the Kuga (except of the boring interieur and innovative drive mode 😉). Maybe some more opinions show up here.
Ich kann zum Thema leider nix beitragen. Bin wie Sealy bezüglich Ford auch ein gebranntes Kind. Keine gute und dauerhafte Qualität zum hohen Preis. Aber meine Erfahrungen sind schon ein paar Jahre her (Ford Escort 1994-1998 etwa). Allerdings hat auch BYD ein paar Kinderkrankheiten, die man tolerieren muss. Ich würde mich dennoch für BYD entscheiden, da längere Garantie und etwas fortschrittlichere Technik. Und bessere Optik. Das Problem mit der Lenkung sehe ich allerdings nicht, da man bei mir (Seal U EV) diese zwischen „Sport“ und „Komfort“ verstellen kann. Und „Sport“ ist mMn sehr direkt agierend. Die Frage, die bei mir mittlerweile eine Rolle spielen würde wäre die Kundenfreundlichkeit und die Erreichbarkeit des Kundendienstes. Nochmal knapp 100 km zur Werkstatt werde ich nicht mehr fahren. 🔋✌️😎

What about the headroom in the back with your 1,90 meters. Is it not compromised with the panaroof. I am 1,83 meter so not very tall but will sit in the driver seat.

What about the the driving behavior at speeds beyond 100 kmh and changing lanes? I have read comments that it is even a little dangerous. Concerning the PHEV system my preference is with the DMI hands down.
